Frequently Asked Questions:
Hemp and marijuana are like close cousins within the cannabis family. Both come from the cannabis plant, but the main difference lies in their THC content. Hemp contains very low levels of THC (the compound responsible for the “high” sensation) and higher levels of CBD, which is known for promoting physical relaxation without affecting your mind. In contrast, marijuana has higher concentrations of THC, leading to more intense psychoactive effects. Essentially, hemp leans into wellness and relaxation, while marijuana takes things up a notch with a stronger mind-altering experience.
The only legal THC is hemp-derived. It was formally clarified in the 2018 Farm Bill. Importantly, there are two forms of hemp-derived THC: D9 (Delta-9) and D8 (Delta-8). Where Delta 9 is plant-derived, Delta-8 is manufactured, tends to be stronger, but is not yet legal in every state.
The primary difference is the THC source: hemp-derived beverages use THC from hemp plants, while marijuana-infused drinks use THC from marijuana plants. Legally, hemp-derived products must contain less than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight.
Effects vary based on THC content and individual tolerance but may include relaxation, euphoria, and altered perception. It's advisable to start with a low dose to gauge your response.
Onset typically occurs within 30 minutes to 2 hours, with effects lasting up to 6 hours, depending on metabolism and dosage.
No, it's unsafe and illegal to drive under the influence of THC, as it impairs motor skills and judgment.
It's not recommended to mix THC with alcohol, as the combination can intensify impairment and increase the risk of adverse effects.
